An act of kindness unfolded in a New England pawn shop and the outpouring of help has now gone international.
Jenelle Marie, an worker at U.S. Gold & Pawn in Manchester, New Hampshire, was moved by the story of Donald, a 90-year-old Air Pressure veteran dealing with the monetary hardship of elevated hire whereas caring for his spouse who had been lately identified with dementia.

Donald was frequenting the pawn store to promote his jewellery for hire cash, which led Marie and her fiancé to begin a GoFundMe marketing campaign to assist the veteran.
“He instructed me that his spouse had simply received identified with dementia and his landlord needed to increase his hire on him, so it sort of pulled on my heartstrings,” Marie told NewsNation. “I instructed the proprietor of the store and he determined he wasn’t going to gather curiosity from him … I believed that was actually sort of him, and it sort of impressed me and my fiancé to begin what I believed was simply going to be somewhat GoFundMe.”
Marie made a TikTok of her presenting the preliminary $1,300 raised to Donald, and the marketing campaign went viral. Contributions started pouring in.

“I hope two classes: one is the smallest act of kindness can actually change somebody’s life in additional methods than you could possibly ever think about, and the opposite is simply to boost consciousness that we have now to do higher for our veterans,” Marie stated.
