The USA Embassy in Cameroon broadcasts the completion of an IED Threats and Consciousness course on November 4-8, 2024, in Yaoundé. This coaching is a collaborative effort between the U.S. Division of State’s Bureau of Worldwide Safety and Nonproliferation, Pacific Northwest Nationwide Laboratory, and the Authorities of Cameroon.
This initiative marks a milestone within the enduring partnership between our two governments, united of their dedication to fight terrorism and safeguard communities.
Improvised explosive units (IEDs) have lengthy been a weapon of alternative for rebel and terrorist teams worldwide and in fight zones to focus on each safety forces and civilians. The devastating influence of IEDs is well-documented and ever evolving, with terrorist teams regularly sharing their lethal improvements and posing grave threats to the world.
Over 5 intensive days, attendees delved into the intricacies of IED threats, rising ways, greatest practices and countermeasures. The course featured participation from legislation enforcement officers, customs officers, border guards, and inside safety personnel with the data and expertise essential to determine and mitigate IED threats.
