The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) is gravely involved by rising abductions, allegedly carried out by the Nationwide Salvation Entrance (NAS) and different armed components, within the higher Yei area of Central Equatoria state, predominantly impacting Yei River, Morobo and Lainya counties.
Final month itself, UNMISS obtained studies of some 12 such circumstances, affecting 134 people, six of whom are kids. The kidnapping of kids, specifically, exposes them to varied dangers together with potential recruitment and use in armed battle; sexual and gender-based violence, trafficking; and different types of exploitation.
