Reuters couldn’t independently confirm the report by Russia’s Defence Ministry that its troops had retaken the settlements of Uspenovka and Borki. They lie about 20km aside on the border with Ukraine’s Sumy area.
A senior Russian commander and pro-Kremlin struggle bloggers stated final week that Russia had taken again management of about 10 settlements within the area – an assertion Reuters was unable to verify.
Ukraine says its forces management about 100 villages in Kursk over an space of greater than 1,300 sq km, which Russian sources dispute.
