BUCHAREST: Romanian prosecutors on Wednesday (Aug 21) detained controversial influencer Andrew Tate, who’s already awaiting trial over human trafficking and rape fees, after raiding his home in a new investigation involving minors.
One of many world’s best-known influencers identified for misogynist and typically violent maxims, Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan, 36, are being held “for twenty-four hours” for questioning by the Workplace for Organised Crime (DIICOT), their spokeswoman mentioned.
Earlier Wednesday, their residence was raided as “a part of a search associated to a brand new investigation”, in response to the spokeswoman.
DIICOT mentioned in a press release that 4 search warrants had been executed in and round Bucharest in reference to “the crimes of forming an organised felony group, trafficking in minors”, “sexual relations with a minor” and “cash laundering”.
The Tate brothers have already been accused of having formed an organised criminal network in early 2021 in Romania and Britain. They’ve denied the costs.
