Nigeria’s Particular Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) mission has garnered over $2.2 billion in funding pledges through the Africa Funding Discussion board 2024 in Rabat, Morocco. Facilitated by the African Growth Financial institution (AfDB), the funds will propel this system’s second part, which goals to ascertain agro-industrial hubs, improve meals safety, create jobs, and increase productiveness throughout the nation. This system, at the moment operational in eight states, together with Cross River, Oyo, and Kano, will broaden to 24 extra states throughout its second part. AfDB President Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina hailed the initiative as pivotal for Nigeria’s agricultural transformation, emphasizing its potential to empower smallholder farmers and place the nation as a frontrunner in agro-industrialization. In the meantime, Professor Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, the Senior Particular Adviser on Industrialization to the AfDB President, highlighted Nigeria’s untapped agricultural potential. He advocated for the industrialization of the nation’s agriculture to maximise the worth of its agricultural produce.
