Newly deployed navy officers underneath the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) have acquired intensive coaching on civil-military cooperation (CIMIC).
The four-day coaching, organised by the UK Mission Assist Workforce (UKMST) and ATMIS’ CIMIC Cell, geared up the officers with a transparent understanding of CIMIC actions, mission initiation, report writing and neighborhood engagements.
In the course of the closing ceremony, on Thursday, ATMIS Deputy Power Commander in command of Operations and Plans, Maj. Gen. Marius Ngendabanka, expressed confidence that the coaching considerably improved the members’ understanding of key CIMIC ideas.
