Mali’s junta has arrested outstanding politician Issa Kaou N’Djim for allegedly insulting Burkina Faso’s navy chief, against the law underneath Malian regulation. N’Djim, a former ally of Mali’s navy regime who later advocated for a return to democracy, criticized Burkina Faso’s junta on Joliba TV, claiming they fabricated proof of a coup plot. Subsequently, he was detained and despatched to Bamako’s fundamental jail. In accordance with reviews, Joliba TV’s director was additionally summoned for questioning. That is N’Djim’s second run-in with Malian authorities as, in 2021, he was handed a six-month jail sentence for criticizing Mali’s junta.
