President Wavel Ramkalawan of the Republic of Seychelles witnessed the reappointment of Justice Bernadin Renaud as Chairperson of the Seychelles Human Rights Fee and presided over the swearing-in of Mr. Elvis Julie as a brand new Electoral Commissioner throughout a ceremony at State Home this afternoon.
Justice Renaud, initially appointed as Chairperson in July 2019 for a five-year time period, has been reappointed beneath Part 5(1) of the Seychelles Human Rights Fee Act, 2018, following the President’s session with the Speaker of the Nationwide Meeting. Within the presence of distinguished friends, Justice Renaud took the Oath of Allegiance to the Structure and the Judicial Oath.
The ceremony additionally included the swearing-in of Mr. Elvis Julie as a brand new Electoral Commissioner. Mr. Julie, presently the Chief Govt Officer of the Seychelles Human Rights Fee, has been appointed in accordance with Article 115 of the Structure of the Republic of Seychelles. He replaces Ms. Veronique Bonnelame-Alcindor, whose time period has ended.
