The police in Oyo have suggested residents to disregard a viral video by suspected separatist teams which surfaced on social media issuing eviction ultimatums to herders within the Igboho space of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer within the state, SP Adewale Osifeso, made the decision in a press release Wednesday in Ibadan.
Osifeso stated that the video which surfaced on-line within the early hours of Tuesday was particularly designed by brokers of mischief to disrupt the relative peace being loved within the state by inciting violence and civil disturbances.
“The Oyo State Police Command needs to dispel unfounded rumours and speculations throughout sure segments making the spherical on the social media, over the purported eviction of Herders at Igboho, Oorelope, Native Authorities Areas by suspected separatist teams members as deceptive and full falsehood.
