The Inspector-Common of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered an investigation into allegations of mistreatment of minors arrested throughout the #EndBadGovernance protests.
PUNCH On-line reports that on Friday, 76 suspects, largely minors who appeared malnourished, had been arraigned in reference to the protests. Six of the minors collapsed and needed to be taken out of the courtroom for medical help.
Reacting to the incident on Saturday, the IG claimed that the fainting of a number of the minors in courtroom was staged to draw destructive consideration. He added that medical help was promptly offered, emphasising the police’s dedication to the welfare of people of their custody.
Following the general public outrage over the incident, President Bola Tinubu directed on Monday that the costs in opposition to the minors be withdrawn.

Adejobi added that the IG had summoned heads of investigation models to a convention on child-friendly investigation strategies.
