The Regional Editor of The Dialog Africa and an investigative journalist, Adejuwon Soyinka, has been launched.
Operatives of the Division of State Companies arrested Soyinka on the Muritala Muhammed Worldwide Airport in Lagos on Sunday.
A misery message despatched to The PUNCH by considered one of his associates said that Soyinka was picked up shortly after arriving from the UK.
The good friend within the message mentioned no motive was given for his arrest and Soyinka had been held incommunicado.
The message learn, “Adejuwon Soyinka has been detained by officers of the Division of State Safety on the Muritala Muhammed Worldwide Airport in Lagos. The incident occurred round 5.40 am on Sunday, the twenty fifth of August, 2024, shortly after he arrived in Nigeria by way of a Virgin Atlantic flight from the UK.
“As on the time of this report, no motive had been given for his detention by the safety company. Soyinka has not been reachable as messages and calls to his telephone have been unanswered.”
When contacted, the DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya mentioned he was not conscious of Soyinka’s arrest.
“I’m not conscious of the matter you will have raised and haven’t any feedback on it,” he mentioned.
Nevertheless, in one other message despatched by his good friend, he mentioned Soyinka had been launched by the DSS, who held him of their Ikoyi workplace.
The good friend informed our correspondent that the DSS seized Soyinka’s passport.
“He has been launched. They held onto his passport. He was launched from their (DSS) Ikoyi workplace.”
