The Nationwide Youth Service Corps has introduced that potential corps members who had been unable to take part within the one-year nationwide service on account of being kidnapped can be issued certificates.

The victims are Daniel Etim Bassey (from Uruan LGA, a graduate of the College of Nigeria, Nsukka); Obong Victor Udofia (from Ikono LGA, College of Uyo); Sabbath Anyaewe Ikan (from Jap Obolo LGA, Akwa Ibom Polytechnic); Abigail Peter Sandy (from Abak LGA, Maurid Polytechnic); Glory Etukudo Thomas (from Eket LGA, Heritage Polytechnic); Emmanuel Esudue (from Urue Offong Oruko LGA); Victoria Bassey Udoka (from Ini LGA, College of Uyo); and Solomon Bassey Daniel (from Itu LGA, Akwa Ibom Polytechnic).
Ahmed mentioned, “Obong Victor Udofia was rescued on the third of February, 2024. Daniel Bassey was rescued on the eighth of February, 2024. Glory Etukudu Thomas was rescued on the ninth of June, 2024. Yesterday, twenty second August, we rescued the final sufferer, Solomon Daniel Bassey.”
He said that no ransom was paid to safe the discharge of the corps members, emphasizing that they had been rescued by way of the efforts of the Division of State Safety and the Nigerian Military.
