The Bayelsa Commissioner for Info, Orientation, and Technique, Mrs. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, has stated progress is being made to revive energy to the state.
Bayelsa was on July 29 thrown into darkness following the vandalism of the 132 KVA twin circuit transmission towers that fed the state.
The commissioner stated contractors dealing with the broken transmission towers on the Okogbe axis of the East-West street have been working around the clock to revive electrical energy to Bayelsa.
Koku-Obiyai spoke on Friday to the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) throughout an on-the-spot evaluation of labor at Okogbe alongside the East-West Highway in Rivers.
She expressed optimism that energy could be restored quickly and urged residents to train persistence as the federal government was conscious of the ache it had prompted to the folks of the state.
She defined that discussions have been ongoing between Rivers and Bayelsa states and the Transmission Firm of Nigeria (TCN), to checkmate the actions of vandals to keep away from a reoccurrence.
