The Nigerian Military on Sunday debunked reviews circulating that the Chief of Military Workers, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has died.
A number of reviews, originating from a social media put up by a Nigerian journalist saying the loss of life of the Military chief, had gone viral.
The journalist claimed that Lagbaja had died of most cancers 48 hours in the past.
The put up learn, “The Chief of Military Workers, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has died. Lagbaja died in an undisclosed hospital abroad almost 48hrs in the past from a stage three Most cancers, in response to a senior Authorities official.
“The loss of life of the Chief of Military workers has been stored secret due to intense lobbying by some Generals who wish to take the place.
“Lagbaja, born on February 28, 1968, in Ilobu, Osun State, was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023, because the twenty seventh Chief of Military Workers.”
Reacting to the put up on X, the Nigerian Military marked it as faux information.
Nevertheless, sources on the Military Headquarters confirmed to our correspondent that the Military Chief was critically unwell.
One of many sources stated, “ COAS will not be lifeless. He’s solely critically unwell for the time being. We must be praying for him at this vital time and never spreading rumours that he died. “
One other supply stated he was in another country to deal with himself.
