The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a suspect in reference to the trafficking of youngsters aged between 13 and 16.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated at a press briefing in Awka that the suspect had trafficked quite a few youngsters to neighbouring international locations.
Ikenga added that a few of the victims, who had been taken to Ghana, have been safely returned to Nigeria. A search is ongoing to apprehend different members of the gang.
The police spokesman disclosed that the suspect was apprehended following reviews of accelerating circumstances of lacking youngsters within the state.
He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, had directed police personnel within the state to take all obligatory actions to handle the difficulty.
