KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked new British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Friday (Jul 5) for assurances that Britain would keep its help for Kyiv in its struggle towards Russia.
Zelenskyy, writing on the Telegram messaging app, stated he had spoken to Starmer by phone and wished him “success in fulfilling the expectations of the British individuals”.
“I’m grateful to Keir Starmer for his assurances that Britain’s help for Ukraine will stay unchanged in precept,” Zelenskyy wrote.
He and Starmer, he stated, had “coordinated our positions” forward of subsequent week’s NATO summit at which Ukraine hopes to listen to of attainable steps for Kyiv to safe membership of the Alliance.
Zelenskyy stated he regarded ahead to beginning preparations for a long-term settlement between their two international locations.
