The Defence Headquarters has reported that troops deployed for counterterrorism operations killed 109 terrorists and arrested 81 suspects through the first week of 2025.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Buba Edward, made this announcement in a press release on Friday, noting that the army stays dedicated to its marketing campaign in opposition to insurgents and their collaborators throughout the nation.
Detailing the outcomes of assorted operations performed by troops nationwide, Buba stated, “Throughout the week below evaluation, troops neutralised 109 terrorists, arrested 81 suspects, and rescued 43 kidnapped hostages.”
Breaking down the operations by theatre, Buba reported that troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralised 64 terrorists, arrested 28 suspects, and rescued 14 kidnapped victims.
“On January 3, 2025, the air element of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, as a part of its ongoing offensive operations in opposition to terrorists, performed an air interdiction at Alawa Forest in Shiroro LGA of Niger State.
