The Inspector-Common of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered officers and males of the Nigeria Police Drive to put on black bands for a seven-day mourning interval in honour of the late Chief of Military Workers, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
The police boss gave the directive in an announcement issued on Thursday by the Drive Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.
Adejobi mentioned the directive is to honour Lagbaja, who confirmed gallantry, dedication, and keenness within the struggle towards insurgency within the nation throughout his lifetime.
The assertion reads, “Following the demise of the late Chief of Military Workers, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Inspector-Common of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has ordered officers and males of the Nigeria Police Drive to put on black band all through the 7 day mourning interval.
“This directive is to pay tribute and honour the late Common who has proven gallantry, dedication, and keenness for preventing violent crimes and insurgency in Nigeria. He was a fantastic chief who deserves to be honoured by all means.
“Could the soul of the late COAS relaxation in peace.”
